The Detroit Lions will take on the Washington Commanders at Ford Field for an NFL game on Sunday. The Lions come into this game on the back of a 38-35 loss at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles. Quarterback Jared Goff passed for 215 yards and had two touchdown passes and one interception as he completed 21 of his 37 passes. Jamaal Williams scored two touchdowns while D’Andre Swift, Amon-Ra St Brown and DJ Clark recorded one touchdown each in a losing effort.

Detroit coach Dan Campbell was happy to see his team’s resilience but warned his team not to get complacent. Speaking after the game, Campbell said, “I’m glad we fought back and I told the guys that we didn’t play well and only lost by three, so that’s a positive. But we can’t accept that and be happy to lose by three. We have a lot to clean up.”

Carson Wentz stars for Commanders

On the other hand, the Washington Commanders come into this game on the back of a 28-22 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars and sit in second place on the NFC East table. Quarterback Carson Wentz had a good game as he passed for 313 yards and had four touchdown passes and two interceptions as he completed 27 of his 41 passes. Jahan Dotson scored two touchdowns while Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel recorded one touchdown each.

After the game, a clearly happy Wentz said, “You make a couple bad plays, it’s time to go fix it. It’s a tough stretch there to bounce back from, but guys did a good job. Everybody was rallying around each other, and obviously we got it done.”
