Boston Celtics’ Jaylen Brown warned his teammates not to get complacent in the next game as they look to book their place in the NBA Finals. The Celtics currently lead the Eastern Conference Finals 3-2 against the Miami Heat and are in the driver’s seat to take their iconic team to yet another trip to the NBA Finals. After defeating the Heat 93-80, Brown said that they should not get complacent and should be ready for the next game.

He said, “We are just playing basketball. It’s the playoffs. One game you win. Next game you come out and score 40 points. So we just got to go from game to game. This game only counts for one. We got to be ready for the next one.”

Asked about how they can avoid an upset, the star guard stressed that they should carry on their good form and not to be too surprised at anything. “ Just show our growth. Come up, be ready to play, Brown said. “Don’t be surprised. Carryover from tonight and next game try to find a way to win.”

Celtics put the clamps on Heat

The Celtics put on a defensive masterclass in Game 5 against the Heat and put the clamps on most of the starters. Lowry once again had an off night and shockingly scored no points. Jimmy Butler hasn’t been the same ever since that injury in Game 3. Boston on the other hand look to be like a complete team. Jayson Tatum scored 22 points and had 12 rebounds and 9 assists while Jaylen Brown scored 25 points.

Brown asked what clicked during the game, Brown said, “We just got a go on offensively. We stopped turning the ball over as we had a lot of turnovers in the first half. We were able to get some more shots up. They (Heat) had 12 more shots than us in the first half. In the second half, we cleaned it up and got more settled in and found a way to win.

When asked if he felt if things were starting to click after that scoring run, he said, “Absolutely. We’ve been playing defence all year. We played defence great in the first half. We played defence great in the second half. So, once we started to give the ball away, I knew we’d get some open looks and we had to be ready to knock them down.”
