Klay Thompson had the privilege of meeting Michael Jordan after game 6 of the finals where Jordan hit a game-winner to win his 6th NBA championship.
Klay was one of the luckiest to have not only met the legend in his prime but he got a chance to meet the other legends who were part of the team.
That one meeting with the legend changed the young Klay Thompson as he was motivated by Jordan’s heroics that night and went on to become one of the top players in the NBA today.
Klay spoke about how it proved to be one of the momentous days of his life via a Twitter video posted by NBA history.
Klay went on to say “I don’t remember much from that night, the year was 97 or 98, it was the last championship that team won together. But I do remember the hype and hysteria that came with the Chicago Bulls, Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman and company. I remember my dad taking us to the back, we were just waiting to see Scottie and Michael so badly and I don’t think I said a word.”

Klay Thompson who idolised Micheal Jordan went on to become a professional basketball player and won three NBA championships with the Golden State Warriors, He is a five-time NBA All-star and All-NBA Third Team honoree.
Thompson, who had many setbacks due to two career-ending injuries, says that The experience of meeting Micheal Jordan proved to be too good for him and which helped him reach great heights in his career.
Thompson went on to say “But, just the fact that I was able to be there and see the legend himself was so motivating for me. I was able to tell all my friends when I went to school. I’ll forever cherish that memory and I can always tell my peers and my future kids that I was able to see Michael Jordan in his prime and see the Chicago Bulls play and it was truly an honour and something I’ll never forget.”
