In these past two months of exciting NBA basketball, some players have put up great performances. Joel Embiid, Luka Doncic, Jayson Tatum and Steph Curry have all put on a scoring clinic. In today’s article, we take a look at the top five scoring performances so far in the 2022-23 NBA season.

#5 Devin Booker – 49 points

Devin Booker has been the main man for the Phoenix Suns this season. He has embraced that role and is putting in stellar numbers so far. In a game against the Utah Jazz on 18th November, the shooting guard scored 49 points on 51.6% shooting from the field. Despite his brilliant performance, the Suns were handed a close 134-133 defeat by the Utah Jazz. It was Lauri Markkanen who led the way for them. The Finnish national scored 38 points and hit the game-winning bucket to lead the team from Salt Lake City to a win.

Ja Morant has once again been vibrant and exciting in all games for the Memphis Grizzlies. His athleticism and decision-making have been on show every time he takes the floor for them. #3 Stephen Curry – 50 points

Stephen Curry has put up scintillating numbers for the Golden State Warriors this season. However, his brilliance has not helped the Dubs get to a great start. This was the case when the Warriors took on the Phoenix Suns on 16th November. Curry scored 50 points on 60.7% shooting from the field, Despite his season high, the Dubs were not able to get past the Suns as they put in a team effort to grab a 130-119 win on the night.

#2 Darius Garland -51 points

Darius Garland has looked brilliant for the Cleveland Cavaliers ever since Donovan Mitchell’s arrival to the team. His burden on the offensive end has lessened and this has helped him to play a lot more freely than he used to before. In a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Garland produced another great performance where his scoring brilliance was on display. He scored 51 points on 51.6% shooting from the field. Out of the 51, 27 points came in the fourth quarter. Despite his resilient effort, the Cavs were not able to get back in the game as they lost by a 129-124 scoreline.

#1 Joel Embiid – 59 points

Joel Embiid had one of the most dominant NBA games in a long time when his Philadelphia 76ers faced Utah Jazz on 13th November. The big man racked up 59 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 blocks.
