The Boston Celtics did not have a good night as they lost Game 5 of the NBA Finals to the Golden State Warriors 104 – 94. Jayson Tatum top-scored for the Celtics with 27 points and had 10 rebounds while Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown had 20 and 18 points respectively. The Boston bench did not contribute much as they could only muster up 10 points. Boston for once in this series had a great third quarter, something that defined the Warriors’ success in the second half. Boston trailed 51-39 at the break before charging back with a 35-point outburst in the third.

Backs against the wall for Boston Celtics

A dejected Al Horford said after the game, “Definitely we weren’t as sharp as we needed to be during times there. Just tough. Definitely now, our backs are against the wall, and we have to see what we’re made of.” Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka tried to focus on the positives. “When we’re at our best, it’s simple ball movement. I think the third quarter showed that. The drive and kick was beautiful, was working, getting guys wide-open shots,” he said.

Celtics fans had a lot to say on Twitter and here we will look at some of the best reactions.
