The San Antonio Spurs will welcome the Los Angeles Lakers to the AT&T Center for an NBA game on Friday. The Spurs lost their last game 110-129 over the Pelicans. Even with C.J. Spurs guard Devin Vassell had 26 points and eight assists and Doug McDermott added 21 points. San Antonio has lost 11 of 12. Jonas Valanciunas finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds for New Orleans.
“Well, obviously we didn’t figure it out,” San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich said of defending Williamson. “But there is a reason why he got picked where he got picked. He’s pretty good.”
The Lakers on the other hand also lost 115-105 against the Suns in their last game. Lonnie Walker IV scored 24 points and Russell Westbrook came off the bench to score 21 for the Lakers (5-11). Reaves scored 11 and Beverley had 10 rebounds — but no points in 29 minutes.
After cooler heads prevailed, Williams said his team stayed composed. “It was like, ‘Guys, let’s just win the game.’ Our guys got it back together,” he said. “We got a few stops and that allowed to get out in transition a little bit.”
