Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers will welcome the Indiana Pacers to Amway Center for an NBA game on Wednesday. The Magic won 127-129 in their last game over the Kings. Tyrese Maxey scored 15 of his 32 points in the third quarter and the Philadelphia 76ers, playing without Joel Embiid and James Harden, completed a perfect five-game road trip by beating the Sacramento Kings 129-127 on Saturday night.

Maxey also had seven assists and six rebounds to help the 76ers overcome a 21-point deficit. Embiid and Harden rested foot injuries but the rest of the 76ers snapped Sacramento’s six-game winning streak. Tobias Harris, Montrezl Harrell and Georges Niang all had 17 points for the Sixers. “That was a resilient win by our guys,” 76ers coach Doc Rivers said. “Everyone who played did something to help us win tonight. It’s a team win.”

The 76ers surged back to tie the game at 86 on a three-point play by Harrell with 6:59 left in the third quarter. The Kings regained the lead when Barnes scored the next five points but the 76ers mounted a 16-5 run to end the quarter with a 102-96 lead. Maxey scored 12 of the 76ers’ first 16 points in the third quarter.

Brooklyn Nets

The Nets on the other hand won 116-120 against the Warriors in their last game. Royce O’Neale walked gingerly onto the podium with an ice bag around each knee and reiterated the soaring confidence level among the Brooklyn Nets even with star Kevin Durant on the sidelines nursing a knee injury. Taking down Stephen Curry and the defending NBA champions on their home floor sure doesn’t hurt.

With the defense keying on Kyrie Irving, O’Neale hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 28.5 seconds left, and the Nets capitalized on Golden State’s third straight game squandering a double-digit lead, beating the Warriors 120-116 on Sunday night. “Kyrie had been getting to the basket, hitting tough shots and at that moment, he drove, two people double-teamed and he found me open,” O’Neale said. “I just needed to have the confidence to knock it down.”
