The LA Clippers have been touted to be the favourites to win the 2022-23 NBA championship. They have two of the best players in the league, in the form of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Both these stars were out injured for the Clippers last season. Despite that, the other stars gave in their best and made their way to the play-in tournament. Although the team lost there, their brilliance without Kawhi and PG was noted by all.

To add to their strength, the team from LA has added John Wall to their roster. The five-time All-Star has had his share of injuries and other problems in the past few years. However, he is now locked in and is all set to bring his best to the court. Aside from these three stars, they also have some other players they can rely on. In today’s article, we look at five players from the Clippers who could prove to be instrumental for them next season.

Kawhi Leonard

Kawhi Leonard missed out on the entire 2021-22 season, due to the ACL injury he suffered during the 2020-21 playoffs. The 31-year-old has gotten enough time to recover and is now all set to take the court for the 2022-23 season. His two-way ability will certainly help the Clippers massively next season. The two-time NBA champion has enough experience of playing on the biggest stage. If he is able to stay fit throughout the season, it will be tough for other teams to get the better of the Clippers.

Paul George

Paul George is another player from the Clippers, who is sensational on both ends of the floor. Before suffering a season-ending injury last campaign, PG was showcasing sheer brilliance. Having rested well, the seven-time All-Star will be all set to bring in his best for the team next season. His offensive armory is diverse and when he gets going it can get really tough to stop him. With the team having added a little more depth, some more load will be off his shoulders. This will allow him to play a little more freely and wreck havoc on defenses.

John Wall

John Wall was one of the best point guards in the NBA prior to his injury in 2018. He has since gone through a lot personally and professionally. However, keeping all of that behind him, the five-time All-Star is set to start his stint as part of the Clippers. Wall is well versed with the fact that he is going to play third fiddle in the team. But he seems to have no problem with that as it will give him more freedom to be himself. At his peak, Wall was an athletic guard that could make his way into the paint with ease. With him on the team, George and Leonard certainly have another player, who they can rely on when they have a rough night.

Reggie Jackson

Reggie Jackson was one of the best players for the Clippers last season. He averaged 16.8 PPG in 75 appearances and proved to be a leader in a team without Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. With those two available next season, Jackson can expect a little lesser load, but his importance on the roster will be the same. The guard is a dynamic player, who can shoot the ball well. He can also shift the momentum in a matter of minutes when he gets going. Aside from the big three the Clippers have, they will also be heavily dependent on Reggie Jackson to get the job done next season.

Marcus Morris

Marcus Morris was also an important part of the LA Clippers last season. He was terrific from the three-point line, but also did well on the defensive end of the floor. Morris brings a certain level of toughness to the roster. He is a team player and his ability to put it all on the floor is what has made him a key part of the franchise.

Aside from these five players, the Clippers have other players like Norman Powell, Nicolas Batum, Ivica Zubac and Brandon Boston Jr., who are going to be big for them next season. The team have immense depth and all of that is what has made them the preseason favourites to lift the NBA championship.
