The game between the San Antonio Spurs and Denver Nuggets will take place at AT&T Center on Friday, March 10 at 8:00 PM ET.
The San Antonio Spurs will welcome the Denver Nuggets to AT&T Center for an NBA game on Friday. The San Antonio Spurs lost 142-110 in their last game over the Rockets. Keita Bates-Diop led the Spurs with 17 points and Keldon Johnson had eight points and five assists in his return after missing two games with a sprained left foot.
“I thought Houston was a really good, physical, strong team,” coach Gregg Popovich said. “Silas has got them going good. They’re energetic, aggressive. They deserved to win that game.”
Green, the second overall pick in the 2021 draft, needed just three quarters to notch his 11th game this season with at least 30 points. He watched the fourth quarter from the bench with the game well in hand. Kevin Porter Jr. added 19 points with a season-high 13 assists for the Rockets in his third game back after missing 20 with a bruised toe. Everyone in Houston’s starting lineup scored at least 10 points.
The Denver Nuggets on the other hand lost 96-117 against the Bulls in their last game. Nikola Jokic led Denver with 18 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists, and Aaron Gordon added 17 points and nine rebounds. Jokic made only seven of his 16 shots, snapping a 51-game streak in which he shot at least 50% from the field.
“You just try to make it tough for them,” LaVine said. “Obviously, Jokic is a two-time MVP. If we’re letting him shoot pull-up 3s, he can make them. But if he beats us that way, you tip your cap to him because it takes away from everything he does so great.” Entering the night, Denver was an NBA-best 30-4 at home, which included wins in 24 of its last 25 games. The Nuggets, who lead the NBA in field goal and 3-point percentage, made only 42% of their shots. The 96 points were their second-fewest in a game this season.
“One game doesn’t mean we’re a bad team, but I think we have weaknesses like every team has weaknesses,” Jokic said. Trailing by one at halftime, 52-51, the Bulls went on a 19-4 run in the third quarter to take a 79-66 lead, capped by Williams’ 3-pointer with 3:22 remaining in the period. Coming off the bench, Williams finished with 18 points and made eight of his nine shots.
