Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers will welcome the Chicago Bulls to Crypto.com Arena for an NBA game on Monday. The Los Angeles Clippers lost 110-131 in their last game over the Pelicans. Bones Hyland scored 18 points and Kawhi Leonard added 12 points and six rebounds for the Clippers, who have lost three of four. “I thought they really came out to attack us tonight, and they did that,” Clippers coach Tyronn Lue said. “On the offensive end, 20 turnovers with 28 points (off turnovers) is too many, especially for a fast team like this.”

At risk of falling out of the play-in tournament with a loss, the energized Pelicans started out hot, scoring the first eight points, and never let up. The Clippers made pushes, including scoring 11 straight points to pull within 47-40, but the Pelicans connected from distance when needed to break their momentum. “It’s tough to dig yourself a hole and try to climb out every single night,” Lue said.

New Orleans ended up 14 for 22 from long distance (63.6%) in the first half. “We took care of the basketball, and we got some stops on the defensive end and we ran in transition,” Ingram said. “I think the pace was good for us.” Although the Clippers were down by 14 points going into the fourth, Leonard did not play in the final quarter. Lue declined to say why Leonard did not return to the game.

Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls on the other hand won 108-118 against the Lakers in their last game. LeBron James scored 19 points off the bench in his return from a monthlong injury absence, but Zach LaVine scored 32 points to lead the Chicago Bulls to a 118-108 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.DeMar DeRozan added 17 points for the Bulls, who easily overcame James’ return for their seventh win in nine games.

LaVine hit 11 of his first 14 shots to lead an offensive effort that snapped the Lakers’ three-game winning streak despite the return of the NBA’s career scoring leader. James sat out 13 games with right foot soreness, missing four weeks during the Lakers’ run at a playoff berth. The team provided few updates on his recovery, and his return came with little advance warning.

“I felt confident in the workouts that I had this week,” James said. “And the day after the workouts, when I woke up, stepped out down off the bed, I could possibly play today. And after my workout early before the game today, I knew I could play.”
