Given his importance to the Milwaukee Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s health worries become increasingly urgent for club supporters. Nevertheless, fans might not need to worry as much, according to an update from Shams Charania of The Athletic. Just before the All-Star break, Giannis Antetokounmpo was observed leaving a game against the Chicago Bulls after suffering a wrist injury. The forward showed up on Sunday night despite the fact that there were some doubts about his readiness to do so.

No severe injury

Antetokounmpo spent a very little amount of time on the court. Giannis scored a small dunk on just one play before committing a foul and being immediately removed from the court. He appeared to be in generally good health, but there was some question about the severity of his wounds. In this sense, a recent report by Shams Charania provided Milwaukee and Bucks supporters with some welcome solace.

No serious damage to his right wrist

According to Charania’s report “Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo underwent further testing that revealed he did not suffer any serious damage to his right wrist, league sources told The Athletic on Monday.” Charania also mentioned that Giannis will resume after the swelling in his wrist has subsided.

The Injury

Early in the second quarter, while trying to prevent a jumper against the Chicago Bulls, Antetokounmpo was hurt. The superstar departed the play at this point, but the Bucks were still able to maintain their momentum. Milwaukee has done a good job of holding on to its perch in the East with a 12-game winning run going into the All-Star break. Milwaukee has stayed afloat thanks to Antetokounmpo’s efforts despite having numerous players miss time due to injury this season. If Antetokounmpo comes back soon after the All-Star break, the Bucks might still appear to be a formidable force.

Bucks without Antetokounmpo

In all honesty, no. The Milwaukee Bucks are a very good team, but without Giannis Antetokounmpo, they might find it difficult to maintain their position. The Bucks are considered to be the strongest teams in the NBA right now, currently in second place and behind Boston by only one and a half games. Milwaukee’s roster has a number of All-Stars and previous All-Stars, including Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton.

Nonetheless, Giannis alone contributed significantly to their achievement from a systemic standpoint. The outrageous 31.8 points and 12.2 rebounds per game average of Antetokounmpo has been a major factor in Milwaukee’s success. The Bucks will struggle to offset his numbers even after taking into account his defensive contributions.

The race to glory

Indeed, the Bucks are in a close battle for first place. With the teams behind them, they are in a similarly challenging situation, though. The Bucks truly can’t afford to lose games at this point with the Philadelphia 76ers only 2.5 games behind and the Cleveland Cavaliers only 4.5 games back. especially if they hope to keep their position in the East’s elite. Yet if Giannis returns soon, the Bucks may still contend with Boston for the top spot.
