The Denver Nuggets will welcome the Chicago Bulls to Ball Arena for an NBA game on Wednesday. The Denver Nuggets won 118-113 in their last game over the Raptors. Jamal Murray scored 24 points, Michael Porter Jr. had 20 and the Denver Nuggets scored the last six points of the game to pull out a 118-113 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Monday night.
Aaron Gordon added 19 points for the Nuggets, who won their ninth in a row at home. They improved to 24-1 in their last 25 games at Ball Arena. Nikola Jokic finished an assist shy of another triple-double. He had 17 points and 13 rebounds. “It was a great win, all business” Murray said.
“We move on to the next. We did what we had to do and I think that’s part of the reason we’re so successful; just move on to the next game and take care of business.” Fred VanVleet had 21 points for the Raptors. Pascal Siakam added 19. Siakam’s jumper with 2:20 remaining gave the Raptors a six-point edge, but the Nuggets rattled off seven straight points to go up 112-111 with 1:15 left.
The Chicago Bulls on the other hand lost 122-125 against the Pacers in their last game. Haliburton’s game-winning shot occurred after Zach LaVine missed a free throw that would have given the Bulls the lead with 22.6 seconds remaining. LaVine, who scored 42 points, was fouled on a 3-point attempt by Bennedict Mathurin and converted the first two free throw tries.
“The first couple options weren’t open,” the Bulls’ DeMar DeRozan said. “At that point, just scrambling to try to get the ball in and get a shot off.” “We got guys who can put the ball in the basket,” said Bulls guard Patrick Beverley, who guarded Haliburton on the final shot. “We just have to rebound it. That’s what it was. We lost it on offensive rebounding.”
The Pacers embarked on a 17-2 run and took their first lead at 47-44 on Chris Duarte’s 3-pointer with seven minutes left in the second quarter. Duarte and fellow reserve T.J. McConnell provided a spark while Haliburton rested his sore right calf during the Pacers’ spurt.
