Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls will welcome the Miami Heat to the United Center for an NBA game on Saturday. The Chicago Bulls won 139-131 in their last game over the Timberwolves. DeMar DeRozan scored a season-high 49 points, Zach LaVine finished with 39 and the Chicago Bulls beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 139-131 in double overtime on Friday night.

DeRozan and LaVine joined Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen as the only Bulls duo with 39 points or more in the same game, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. The two Hall of Famers did it against the Indiana Pacers on Feb. 18, 1996, with Jordan going for 44 and Pippen finishing with 40. The Bulls led 130-125 in the second OT before Conley hit a 3-pointer.

Minnesota’s Naz Reid had a layup rim out, and DeRozan made a turnaround jumper to bump Chicago’s lead to 132-28 with 1:27 remaining. “When we’ve got it rolling like that, it makes everything so much easier not even just to score, just to get everybody else involved,” said DeRozan, who had some trouble seeing after getting hit in the eye. Nikola Vucevic added 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Miami Heat

The Miami Heat on the other hand won 138-119 against the Grizzlies in their last game. For the first time in nearly two months, the Miami Heat got an easy one. Bam Adebayo scored 26 points, Tyler Herro added 24 and the Heat shot 59.8% — a season best, by far — on the way to topping the Memphis Grizzlies 138-119 on Wednesday night. “We put together 48 minutes of Miami Heat basketball — getting stops, running in transition and sharing the ball,” Adebayo said.

Jimmy Butler scored 23 points, Max Strus had 12, Caleb Martin finished with 11 and Kevin Love and Gabe Vincent each had 10 for the Heat. Miami set a season high for points, and it was only the sixth time — in 38 wins — that the Heat prevailed by more than 10 points. Before Wednesday, Miami’s most recent double-digit win was Jan. 18 at New Orleans, a 124-98 romp. And the Heat hadn’t shot better than 54.5% in any game this season.
