Kyle Kuzma is in the middle of a stellar season with the Washington Wizards. He has averaged a career-high 20.6 PPG on 45.9% shooting from the field. He has also been an active presence on the board and grabbed 7.7 RPG. Looking at his steady development, several NBA teams have expressed their interest in acquiring his services.

In his latest article, NBA Insider Shams Charania wrote that Kyle Kuzma would be expecting $20-$25 million per year on his next contract. He last signed a three-year $40 million deal while he was still with the LA Lakers. Currently, in the second year of his contract, Kuzma will have a player option for the next season. Looking at his performances, the wing could very well look at what free agency has to offer.

Charania reported that the Phoenix Suns and Atlanta Hawks are among the teams that could work out a deal. However, a lot more teams would definitely want to have a shot at bringing a versatile wing like Kyle Kuzma into their team. His ability to score a high volume of points and also be an active presence on the boards is extremely detrimental to the Wizards. It is highly unlikely that they would just let him go, but if the team from the Capital do not put a good deal on the table, Kyle Kuzma could walk off and make himself available as early as the February 9th trade deadline of this season.

Which is the team that would perfectly suit Kyle Kuzma’s style of play?

Kyle Kuzma would be a great addition to any team in the NBA. Having played alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis, Kuz has already a championship to his name. Having a player like him in the locker room would be a great boost for youngsters as his personality is perceived to be far more approachable than many players. Kuzma is only in his second year with the Wizards, but he has already been able to make a great name for himself. Undoubtedly, Bradley Beal is a max player and would be the number one option for the team. However, Kuzma has played his role to perfection and adapted to everything that coach Wes Unseld Jr. has asked of him.

In a league where wings are instrumental for success, Kyle Kuzma could bring a lot of quality at a lot lesser price. He definitely is not going to be sorted as a number one option for contending teams, but in a team like Phoenix Suns, which already has a star in Devin Booker, Kuz would be a great addition. The team has an elite-level point guard in Chris Paul, but he is heading towards the end of his career and it certainly means that Booker would have to take the lead in Phoenix. In a situation like that, Kuzma could be the perfect number two as he could deliver on both ends of the floor. The Suns are already playing without forward Jae Crowder and to fill his void, they could rope in Kuzma, who could be a lot more valuable than the veteran.

Whether the Suns push for a trade or not will be something that only time will tell. However, it certainly would be interesting to see how things work out for the team from Phoenix if they signed a player like Kuzma.
