Kevin Durant’s trade request from the Brooklyn Nets has been one of the biggest stories in the NBA this offseason. The 33-year-old’s request has come after just two active seasons. Although he has not led the team to a championship, his stint in Brooklyn has been impeccable. There is still no clarity behind his reason for leaving the Nets. However, since the news has come out, a number of teams have approached the Nets to acquire his services.

The two-time champion still has four years left on his contract with the Nets. Keeping this in mind, the franchise is expecting nothing but a monumental deal in exchange for him. Not many sides in the league have the resources to even make such a deal happen. This is one of the reasons that Kevin Durant is still on the Nets roster. However, Adrian Wojnarowski has reported that the Boston Celtics have become another team that has emerged in trade talks for Durant.

The Eastern Conference champions have some of the most talented players in the league. This gives them an advantage as the Nets want a young All-Star and several other players in exchange for KD. The Celtics have ruled out the possibility of Jayson Tatum being involved in trade talks. With the three-time All-Star off limits, the team will have to include Jaylen Brown in a deal for Kevin Durant.

Along with Brown, the likes of Marcus Smart, Robert Williams III and Derrick White could all be included in the package. According to reports, the talks are still in the initial stage and the Celtics are also just in the race like the other sides. Whether or not the Nets find the Celtics’ package for Kevin Durant attractive is still in question. However, that could potentially be the best one that the team from Brooklyn will get in exchange for KD.

Will Kevin Durant get traded to the Boston Celtics?

Kevin Durant is one of the best players in the NBA. His offensive armory is lethal and there are not many defenders that can stop him when he gets going. The 33-year-old has all the accolades that he needs, but is still in search of a few more championships before he calls it quits on his illustrious career. His move away from the Nets could be a way of getting to that.

The Celtics are an exceptional team, who have a lot of positives to look at this offseason. They recently made the NBA Finals, where they fell short against the experienced Golden State Warriors team. Bringing in KD could be the trick that helps them get over the line, but will they risk their young core to achieve that, is doubtful. Durant could help them get success instantly, but if they keep their core that could help them stay in contention for years to come.
