In the final seconds of the game, Chris Paul was shoved by Minnesota‘s Taurean Prince, and players from both teams froze for a split second, unsure how the 11-time All-Star would react. The Phoenix Suns point guard essentially did nothing. He walked to the free-throw line, waving goodbye to his teammates.

The Suns were set to triumph again. All that mattered was to win.

The NBA-leading Suns won their ninth straight game on Friday night, defeating the Timberwolves 134-124. Devin Booker scored 29 points, Paul had a triple-double with 21 points, 14 assists, and 10 rebounds, and the Suns won their ninth straight game.

Paul said, “Right now, we’re in a good groove as a team. We just want to stay that way. “

Cam Johnson, who has just stepped into a starting role due to the injuries to many important players, made back-to-back 3-pointers midway through the fourth quarter to help the Suns beat the Timberwolves. He scored 23 points in the end. In the last minutes, the 6-foot-8 big assisted on two more 3-pointers, one by Landry Shamet and the other by Paul.

Deandre Ayton (right ankle sprain) and Jae Crowder (left wrist contusion) were also out, as were important backups JaVale McGee (left knee discomfort) and Cameron Payne (right wrist sprain).

Phoenix Suns in Control

The Suns are off to their finest start in team history, with a record of 39-9. They went up 30-0 after three quarters, relying on Paul’s senior knowledge to seize control in important situations. Phoenix made a season-high 20 3-pointers.

Going into the All-Star break, the Suns are also one win away from capturing first place in the Western Conference. Monty Williams would be the All-Star game’s head coach as a result of this.

Booker said, ”We know our main objective is to win a title, bring a championship here,” Booker said. ”But you can celebrate the little things going into it, along with the big things. Getting our whole coaching staff there would be big time.”

Paul’s 18th triple-double of his career and his third since joining the Suns last season.

After Anthony Edwards got a steal and scored a 14-foot shot at the buzzer, the Suns had to settle with a 100-93 lead going into the fourth quarter. The Timberwolves got as close as three points in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t go any closer.

Edwards led Minnesota with 27 points and a career-high 10 assists. Karl-Anthony Towns got 23 points and Malik Beasley had 26 points off the bench. In the fourth quarter, Beasley scored 18 points.

In a 40-32 advantage after the first quarter, the Suns led 74-66 at halftime. Before halftime, Booker led all scorers with 20 points, while Paul contributed 15 points and nine assists. Edwards scored 16 points to lead the Timberwolves.
