The Atlanta Hawks created their share of buzz this week with a couple of victories in the play-in tournament. However, in their first-round match up against Eastern Conference top seed Miami Heat, Hawks were blown away 115-91.

Coming off the bench, David Robinson led the Heat in scoring with 27 points, while Jimmy Butler and P.J Tucker combined for 37 points to give them a 1-0 lead in this series.

After dropping 38 points against Cleveland on Friday night to seal their playoff berth, Trae Young was utterly miserable. The Hawks missed Clint Capela, who is out with a knee injury and his return is still uncertain for Game 2 of this series. Danilo Gallinari and De’Andre Hunter scored 14 and 17 points respectively but their production could not get the job done in South Beach.

NO TRAE NO PARTY

Just like their match against Cleveland, Trae Young, who got off to a slow start having jus six total points in the first half. In the second half, Young exploded for 32 points, and his production was a huge part of the reason that the Hawks were able to storm back and pull out a win.

Against the Heat a similar scenario was brewing but the climax wasn’t the same. Overall Trae had just 8 points while playing 28 minutes. That is a horrendous performance for a man who is coming off a hot streak. In the end, Trae is the only fighting chance for the Hawks if they were to overcome Miami in this series. Without Trae firing, the series will be a easy walkover for Miami.

DUNCAN ROBINSON SHOWS THE WAY FOR MIAMI

Robinson showed us all what he is capable of, coming off the bench he drilled in 8 three-pointers, few of which were tough shots. He finished with 27 points playing just 23 minutes. Jimmy Butler and P.J. Tucker showed their experience while combining for 37 points.

These two teams will meet again on 19th for Game 2. Miami leads the series 1-0.
