The Brooklyn Nets have had an extremely busy offseason. At one point the team were close to losing out on their two stars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. However, they managed to hold onto them and are now entering the 2022-23 season as the favourites to win it all. Aside from these two superstars, the Brooklyn Nets have other players they can rely on.

Ben Simmons, who made his way from the Philadelphia 76ers will be finally fully available for them next season. He has recovered from his back injury and will be locked in to bring his best to the court. Offseason signings TJ Warren and Royce O’Neal will also be looking to showcase their abilities in a stacked Nets roster. In this article, we take a look at five Nets players to watch out for next season.

Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant is arguably one of the best offensive players in the NBA. His ability to shoot from a 7 feet height makes him a lethal weapon to have on the team. The former MVP was incredible for the team prior to his injury last season. He was very much in the MVP conversation, but his absence meant that the team lost its way and slipped off a few positions in the table.

KD requested a trade away from the Nets during the offseason, but later on, retracted it. There are doubts surrounding his commitment to the team, but one thing certain is that Durant is going to give his all on the basketball court. He is going to be their go-to guy in big situations. Guarding him will certainly be a big challenge for the opposition as there is not one area on the offensive end where he could be stopped.

Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving is another player from the Nets who had an extremely confusing off-season. At first, reports had linked him to the LA Lakers. But as time progressed those talks slowed down and he expressed his long-term desire of staying in Brooklyn. The seven-time All-Star is one of the best handlers in the league. He can also be a prolific scorer and come up big in clutch situations. If he can lock in and contribute to the best of his ability, the Nets will be a side to watch out for next season.

Ben Simmons

Ben Simmons is one of the best young players in the NBA. After a lot of back and forth with the Philadelphia 76ers, the Australian was able to make his way to the Brooklyn Nets during the trade deadline last season. Many expected him to be back on the court, but his back injury prevented him from doing so. However, the three-time All-Star seems to be back fully fit and ready for next season.

He is a great two-way player and can be a great addition to the roster. With the likes of KD and Irving, all the Nets would want from Simmons is defensive brilliance. In his short career, he has already made two All-Defensive teams and his ability there could be what helps the Nets achieve great success during the 2022-23 season.

Joe Harris

Joe Harris is one of the best shooters in the NBA. Aside from his brilliance from the three-point line, Harris is also a great defender. His absence was deeply felt by the team last season as they lacked a player that could get the job done on both ends of the floor. Having gotten enough time to rehab from the surgery, the Nets would expect Harris to be at his best next season. He has a lot of potential and if he is able to play to that, Harris could certainly help increase their chances of winning it all.

Seth Curry

Seth Curry is also a pivotal part of the Nets’ roster. He is a terrific shooter and could take some load off the shoulders of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. With Ben Simmons on the team, Seth Curry could expect a lot of three-point opportunities as the Australian is a brilliant facilitator of the basketball. Curry also has the experience and could add a lot of value during crunch situations.

These five players could all be a part of one of the lineups Steve Nash could use during the 2022-23 season. It would certainly be tough for the opposition as all of them have their own strengths and could help the Nets win it all.
