On Wednesday night in San Francisco, Stephen Curry came close to sealing the deal for the Warriors. At least, he did until Monte Morris gave a flawless response. Morris hit a game-winning buzzer-beater from the wing to lift the Denver Nuggets over Golden State 117-116 at Chase Center. The finish to what had already been a close game was spectacular, and it could be one of the best games of the season.

The Nuggets took their first lead of the game with a 12-2 run late in the fourth quarter. Curry, on the other hand, put the Warriors back on top almost immediately after hitting a mid-range jumper over Morris and drawing a foul, putting them up two and leaving Morris grinning in defeat.

Morris, on the other hand, had the final laugh, as he caught a perfect pass from Nikola Jokic on the wing and sank a 3-pointer to lift Denver to victory. The Nuggets have now won five of their last six games thanks to Jokic’s 35 points and 17 rebounds. Morris finished with 13 points and six assists, while Bryn Forbes added 22 points off the bench.
