The Golden State Warriors are NBA Champions once again as they beat the Boston Celtics 103 – 90 in Game 6 of the NBA Finals at the TD Garden. Stephen Curry ran the show and dropped 34 points with seven assists and seven rebounds on the night he won the NBA Finals MVP for the first time. This is Golden State’s fourth NBA title in eight years and their seventh overall. Andrew Wiggins scored 18 points whereas Klay Thompson and Draymond Green had 12 points each. It has been quite a ride for the Warriors as just two seasons ago, they had the league’s worst record.

After the game, a tearful Curry said, “We found a way to just get it done. It’s part of a championship pedigree, our experience. We built this for 10-11 years. That means a lot when you get to this stage.” For Steph, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala, this is the fourth title. The first three championships came in 2015, 2017 and 2018, when the Golden State Warriors were fantastic and made five consecutive trips to the finals.

For the Celtics, Jaylen Brown top-scored with 34 points. Jayson Tatum had a surprisingly quiet game as he could only muster 13 points and Al Horford added 19 points. Being so close to the title and losing out must be a bitter pill to swallow for the Celtics but they are a young team with a good core and a great coach and they will bounce back from this.
Twitter was buzzing after the game and we will take a look at some of the reactions.

Steph just did something he’s never done before — he was the best player in the NBA Finals. Because of that, the Warriors are the best team in basketball. #NBAFinals
