The Charlotte Hornets will welcome the Washington Wizards to the Spectrum Center for an NBA game on Friday. The Hornets lost their last game 140-105 over the Celtics. Jalen McDaniels scored 24 points and Kelly Oubre Jr. had 22 for the Hornets, who lost for the 12th time in 15 games.
“He’s always brought it defensively,” Celtics interim coach Joe Mazzulla said. “I have full trust in him diagnosing where the matchup is, where the advantage is, and what can we do to exploit that. And he’s doing a great job anticipating that once he gets the ball.”
The Wizards on the other hand lost 113-107 against the Nets in their last game. Kristaps Porzingis had 27 points and 19 rebounds for Washington. Bradley Beal and Kyle Kuzma each had 25 points for the Wizards, who have lost four of their last five games.
Washington has lost the two games it has played against the Nets this season and on both occasions had trouble stopping Durant, who has averaged 33.4 against them. “He’s the best player in the world,” Porzingis said about Durant. “He’s very hard to stop especially if he’s feeling good, he’s getting to the line, he’s getting and-1s and he’s coming off a 45-point game also? His confidence probably never wavers.”
