An 18-point third-quarter slog by Washington allowed Charlotte to take a two-point lead into the fourth quarter. The Wizards’ offense declined from potent, to middling, to stifled in the first three quarters — they scored 35, 24, and 18 points from the first to the third periods.“We have to have physicality every night,” Hornets coach Steve Clifford said.
The 76ers on the other hand won 115-106 against the Nets in their last game. Tobias Harris scored 24 points and a spirited Philadelphia 76ers team playing without Joel Embiid and James Harden spoiled Simmons’ homecoming with a 115-106 win over Brooklyn.
“I feel like this is a huge win for us,” Harris said. “I knew going into the game we were all going to come out with this type of energy and this type of buzz to get up to play.”
