The Atlanta Braves will host the New York Mets at Truist Park for Game 3 of their series in another round of MLB action. The Braves have an overall season record of 72-46 and come into this game on the back of a 5-0 win over the Mets in Game 2. They sit in second place on the NL East table with a win percentage of .601. Atlanta thumped the Mets 13-1 in Game 1 and has been in great form of late winning eight straight games.

Atlanta’s offence has scored 575 runs this season at an average of .252 and an on base percentage of 317. Matt Olson has hit 25 home runs at an average of .252 and has driven in 79 RBI’s so far this season. Pitcher Charlie Morton had 12 strikeouts in the last match and was on song as he helped Atlanta win the game. Speaking after the game, Braves manager Brian Snitker said of Morton, “Holy cow, that was vintage Charlie right there. His breaking ball was something else.”

Mets concern for Taijuan Walker

On the other hand, the Mets stand at 75-42 for the season and come into this game on the back of a 5-0 humbling at the hands of the Braves in the last game. Even though they sit in first place in the NL East table with a win percentage of .641, they have lost three of their last five matches. They were embarrassed in Game 1 as the Braves beat the 13-1.

The Mets’ offence has scored 553 runs this season at an average of .258 and an on base percentage of .328. Pete Alonso has hit 29 home runs at an average of .277 and has driven in 97 RBI’s so far this season. Pitcher Taijuan Walker exited the game because of back spasms and after the game, he said, “I tried to bend over. When I tried to come back up, it just locked up on me. I’ve never had anything like this before. The training staff is not too concerned about it. So I’ll get an MRI tomorrow and kind of see how I feel.”
