Anthony Martial has completed his long expected loan move to Sevilla FC from Manchester United. The Frenchman will spend the rest of the season with the Spanish club, hoping that the move will allow him to play regularly for the first squad. He will also hope that his move to La Liga would provide him with the opportunity to recapture his best form, which will allow him re-enter the French team. With the World Cup taking place in Qatar at the end of the year, the next few months can help Martial remind the world of his true ability.

“The Frenchman completed a medical in Andalusia, after the two clubs agreed terms for his temporary transfer,” a statement from Manchester United website read. Martial has made 269 appearances for United, scoring 79 goals, since joining the club from AS Monaco in the summer of 2015. He has helped the club to win the FA Cup, the League Cup and the UEFA Europa League.

The 26-year-old was also part of the team that triumphed 1-0 win over West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday. Coming on as a late substitute, he was massively involved in the move that led to Marcus Rashford’s injury-time winner.

I’m joining a big club in Spain: Anthony Martial

Speaking during a press conference at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, Anthony Martial explained why he chose to join Sevilla. “What convinced me to come is the contact with the sporting director and the coach, they showed me that they wanted me. I wanted to come so I could play and show what I can do in the team,” he was quoted by the official Sevilla website.

“In the last few months I have been training a lot. I hope to be able to train soon with my teammates and work well with them to fight for the competitions we’re still in. I’m ready to play. I trained hard to be ready and if the coach wants me to play, I’ll do it now.”

“I already know Ocampos and Koundé very well and I hope to be welcomed by everyone. I’m joining a big club here in Spain and what’s important is helping them towards the aims that we all have at the end of the season. I’ve already known Monchi for a while because he’s wanted me before.

“When he called, we understood that we wanted to work together, and so I could help him towards the aim which the team has. We’re well-placed in second place and there are other big clubs that are aiming for the same of us. We have to be consistent and fight as much as we can to achieve it”.
