After a 26-32 defeat at the hands of Gujarat Giants, Haryana Steelers will be looking to bounce back on Friday when they face off against Bengal Warriors in Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 in Bengaluru. While the previous match did not go Haryana Steelers’ way, raider Vinay, who has been in good form over the past few weeks, said that it was a close game. “The raiders performed really well in the last match. But in our defence, some combinations did not work out. We made a few mistakes, otherwise, we could have easily won that game,” he said.

With two matches in the next three days for Haryana Steelers, the team has been practicing hard to prepare for the upcoming challenges and bounce back from the loss. Vinay revealed how coach Rakesh Kumar is preparing the team for the upcoming games.

“Our coach told us that we need to be patient in the defence and not go for advance tackles. The defence line should tackle when there is a clear chance. He also told the raiders how we can score more points and help the team’s cause,” Vinay said.

“We practiced well for the past two days. We kept the raiders and defenders of the teams which we will be facing in mind and did several situational training sessions. We planned how we can get successful raids when there are certain combinations of defenders in front of us, and how we can successfully tackle when strong raider is coming in our area,” he further revealed.

Tough Bengal Warriors test for Haryana Steelers

Haryana Steelers will face off against Bengal Warriors on Friday, whom they had previously defeated 41-37 in the ongoing season. Vinay believes that their past experience will help Haryana Steelers in producing another positive result.

“Bengal Warriors have strong raiders and defenders who all are quite experienced. But, we are equally experienced as well, and we have done well in the past few games in both the departments,” Vinay said.

“The last time we played Bengal Warriors, we performed well. So, we hope we can do a repeat of the previous performance, and avoid the minute mistakes we made the last time,” he signed off.
