Pro Kabaddi League: UP Yoddha win third game on the bounce, Haryana Steelers beat Dabang Delhi

Pardeep Narwal and Surender Gill led the attack for UP Yoddha with a rock solid defensive support that now keeps the Yoddha’s on the 4th place.

UP Yoddha, the GMR Group owned franchise in the Pro Kabaddi League, won their third game on the trot defeating Bengal Warriors 40-36. A complete team performance was the highlight of the Yoddha’s 5th win in the league this season. Pardeep Narwal and Surender Gill led the attack for UP Yoddha with a rock solid defensive support that now keeps the Yoddha’s on the 4th place in the league table with 38 points. For the Yoddha’s Pardeep Narwal and Surender Gill earned crucial 9 points each while the famed defensive wall of Sumit, Nitesh, Ashu and Shubham earned 4, 3, 2 and 1 tackle points respectively. 

The match started at a high pace with both teams exchanging attacks early in the game. For the Yoddha’s their defenders earned the opening points. Pardeep Narwal once again showcased his class raising his game when needed thereby earning important raid points, ensuring UP Yoddha never allowed Bengal Warriors a comfortable lead in the game.

UP Yoddha begin to extend the lead

UP Yoddha took the lead at the 8th minute through Surender Gill who forced an error on Ran Singh as he stepped out of bounds with the scoreboard reading 6-5. UP Yoddha inflicted an ‘All Out’ on Bengal Warriors in the 17th minute to take a slender 1 point lead with the scoreboard reading 16-15. The Yoddha’s thereafter jogged their way ahead to a 19-15 lead before the half came to an end at 19-18 in the favour of UP Yoddha.

The second half began with the Yoddha’s squandering their lead early on but Nitesh Kumar’s heroics got them back on track with a solitary point lead as the scoreboard read 22-21. Moments later Shrikant Jadhav with the use of Brute force helped UP Yoddha race ahead to a 3 point lead at 24-21. The Yoddha’s thereafter never looked back inflicting a second ‘All Out’ on the Warriors in the 32nd minute with a Pardeep Narwal multi-point raid as the scoreboard read 30-23. UP Yoddha never lost their comfortable lead hereon, as they defeated Bengal Warriors 40-36.

Haryana Steelers defeat Dabang Delhi 

The Haryana Steelers put up a clinical performance and registered a 36-33 victory over Dabang Delhi KC in Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 in Bengaluru on Friday. The Haryana Steelers and Dabang Delhi KC played out a neck-to-neck contest in the opening minutes of the match, however, the Haryana side took the lead at 5-4 in the 9th minute. The Steelers carried out a brilliant tackle and Kandola pulled off a brilliant raid as the Haryana side recorded a three-point lead at 7-4 in the next minute. 

In the 14th minute, the Steelers inflicted an All Out and took a five-point lead at 12-7. The Haryana side rode on the momentum and further extended their lead at 15-8. The Steelers carried out a brilliant tackle and Kandola pulled off a fantastic running hand touch in the 18th minute as Haryana recorded a 9-point lead at 18-9. The Haryana Captain effected another raid as the Steelers led at 19-11 at the end of the first half.

Haryana Steelers pulled off a brilliant tackle in the 24th minute and continued to stay in the lead at 21-14. Haryana effected another tackle and Kandola carried out a raid in the 27th minute as the Steelers recorded an 8-point lead at 23-15. However, Delhi fought back with a multi-point raid point in the 29th minute and narrowed the gap between the two sides. Delhi inflicted an All Out in the 33rd minute, but the Steelers still held the lead at 29-27. 

Delhi pulled off another multi-point raid and got closer to Haryana’s score. Vinay effected a fantastic raid in the 38th minute, but Delhi carried out a raid soon after and levelled the scores at 31-31. In the next minute, Kandola pulled off a multi-point raid and helped his team regain the lead at 33-31. Jaideep carried out a fabulous tackle as the Steelers further extended their lead. The Haryana side rode on the momentum and eventually closed out the victory at 36-33.
