Fresh out of a thrilling win, UP Yoddha, the GMR Group owned franchise of the Pro Kabaddi League, is set to face Jaipur Pink Panthers in their third game of the season on 27th December. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the match will be played behind closed doors at the Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield & Convention Centre. The last time the two sides met, UP Yoddha won 38-32 at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Pune. The two sides have met a total of 5 times till now, out of which UP Yoddha won thrice and lost twice.

Ahead of the match, Jasveer Singh, head coach, UP Yoddha said, “We are confident after our last win and look forward to the match. We are aware that this is a very challenging league and we cannot take any of our opponents lightly, however I have a lot of faith in our team and their ability to bounce back.  I am sure the boys will do their best to do the same again.”

UP Yoddha will go into this match with a lot of confidence after winning 36-35 against Patna Pirates on 25th December. Pardeep Narwal’s stellar performance won 12 points for UP Yoddha who was followed by Sumit with 6 tackle points. Jaipur Pink Panthers will also be coming on the back of a 40-38 win against the Haryana Steelers.

As a result of the current pandemic, the match will be played behind closed doors at the Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield & Convention Centre and will be broadcast LIVE on StarSports Network & Hotstar, 8:30 PM (IST) onwards.

Haryana Steelers go down to Pink Panthers

The Haryana Steelers went down 38-40 against Jaipur Pink Panthers in Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 on Saturday. The Haryana Steelers carried out a fantastic tackle in the fourth minute and took a two-point lead at 4-2. Kandola pulled off a brilliant raid moments later and helped the Steelers take a four-point lead at 7-3. The Haryana side carried out an all-out in the next minute and extended their lead by 6 points. The Steelers pulled off a brilliant Super Tackle in the 15th minute and led at 17-12. 

The Jaipur Pink Panthers carried out an All Out in the last few minutes, however, the Steelers held on to their lead at 22-21 at the end of the first half. Both sides were neck-and-neck in the first four minutes of the second half as Haryana and Jaipur were locked at 26-26. The Panthers carried out an all-out in the 30th minute and led at 33-27. 

The Steelers tried to fight back with a brilliant tackle and a couple of raids, however, the Jaipur side kept forging forward. Rohit Gulia pulled off a fantastic Super Raid in the last few minutes of the match and reduced Jaipur’s lead, however, the Panthers held on to their lead and closed out the match at 40-38.
