Pro Kabaddi League: Our team combinations are working well, says Haryana Steelers’ Vinay

The Haryana Steelers will be looking to ride on the momentum after defeating Puneri Paltan 37-30 in their previous match in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 on Wednesday. The Steelers will take on Dabang Delhi KC in their next match in Bengaluru on Friday. Haryana’s raider Vinay stated that the confidence is high within the group at the moment. He added, “We have attained a lot of confidence after registering a win in our last match. We are trusting each other more on the mat now. Our team combinations are working and we are confident that we will do well in our upcoming matches as well.”

When asked about the aspect that helped Haryana produce a clinical performance in their match against Puneri Paltan, Vinay said, “The defenders were given a free hand in our last match. They were told to make on the spot decisions about carrying out an advance attack or not and our coach had also told the raiders to be aggressive and pick up as many raid points as possible.”

Vinay on facing Dabang Delhi

Speaking about their next match against Dabang Delhi KC, Vinay said, “We are preparing according to the strengths and weaknesses of our opposition. We are looking at how Dabang Delhi KC pick up raid points and accordingly formulate our defensive strategies. Similarly, we are planning various raiding strategies as well. We are focussing on the aspects that will help us attain a good result in our next game.”

Earlier, the Haryana Steelers played brilliantly and defeated Puneri Paltan 37-30 in Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 in Bengaluru on Wednesday. The Steelers and Puneri Paltan played out an even contest in the first few minutes of the match as the two sides were locked at 5-5 at the end of the 7th minute. Puneri Paltan picked up a bonus point and effected a Super Tackle to take the lead at 14-13. Thereafter, the Steelers pulled off a brilliant tackle as the two sides were locked at 14-14 at the end of the first half.

The Steelers attained the momentum in the opening minutes of the second half and took a four-point lead at 19-15. The Haryana side kept picking up points and kept forging ahead. The Puneri Paltan side tried to fight back, however, the Steelers still held the lead at 34-25. In the 38th minute, the Steelers carried out an impressive tackle and continued to stay in the lead at 36-26. The Haryana side rode on the momentum and eventually walked off the mat as winners of the match.
