The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will witness defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the opener. MI will be led by Rohit Sharma, with Virat Kohli the skipper of the Bangalore-based franchise. One can expect an entertaining contest with some of the best in the business battling it out for supremacy. Runs might be hard to come by for Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, as they face off against Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult. Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav might similarly struggle against Kyle Jamieson and Yuzvendra Chahal. However, another battle will be fought off the field as fans challenge each other in a race to accumulate more points than the other in the tournament’s official Fantasy league.

Bearing this in mind, let’s take us a look at five reliable players who must be included in your team:

1) AB de Villiers

The veteran South African cricketer is considered one of the most powerful strikers of the ball. De Villiers can change the game from any scenario with his innovative strokeplay and excellent shot selection. At 11 credits, the batsman is a fine addition despite the hefty price tag set.

2) Virat Kohli

The RCB skipper is the leading run-getter in the IPL, and enjoys a strong desire to help his team emerge victorious at any cost. Kohli can be as dangerous as De Villiers on his day, if not more. This is certainly high praise indeed and indicates why he should be a part of your lineup, even at a price of 12 credits.

3) Rohit Sharma

The Indian opener is one of the best at playing the pull shot, with his strong muscles and supreme strength capable of sending the ball to the stands easily. Rohit can be impossible to dislodge when in rhythm, and this makes him quite dangerous indeed.

4) Glenn Maxwell

The Australian all-rounder can win you games single-handedly on his day. Maxwell is one of the best at taking full advantage of the middle overs, with an ability to bowl tidy off-spin along with exceptional fielding. At 9 credits, he might well prove to be a shrewd addition.

5) Jasprit Bumrah

The Indian pacer is capable of bowling inch-perfect yorkers, and unsettling the batsmen with his variations in pace and bounce. Bumrah is one of the best bowlers in the business, and investing in his services would be a no-brainer, despite the price tag of 11 credits.
