In Twenty20 cricket, picking up a five-wicket haul in four overs is considered a remarkable feat. In the history of the Indian Premier League, there have been only 24 five-wicket hauls in the last 14 years. That means on an average of one per year. The best year for bowlers in the IPL was 2011 when there were four five-wicket hauls. The bowlers struggled in IPL 2010, 2014, and 2015 as they failed to pick up five-wicket hauls in the tournament.
