Rahul Tripathi plays an important cameo

However, unperturbed by the dismissals, Rahul Tripathi (44) tried to keep his side in the leather hunt with a brilliant cameo. He hit five boundaries and one six in his 30-ball knock but failed to get support from Aider Markram (12).

Later, incoming batter Nicholas Pooran (34), played an important knock but failed to keep the match in the balance in his 24-ball stay which included three boundaries and two sixes.
However, the lower-order SRH batters, failed to show much resilience with the bat as they fell like a pack of cards after failing to sustain the formidable LSG bowling line-up.

Khan missed out on a hat-trick but was the pick of the bowlers for SRH as he returned figures of 4/24. West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder, meanwhile, impressed on his LSG debut as he scalped wickets at death to return figures of 3/34.

KL Rahul-Deepak Hooda forge an important partnership

Earlier, KL Rahul (68) and Deepak Hooda (51) notched up brilliant individual half-centuries to guide LSG to a challenging total of 169/7.

Asked to bat, LSG opener Rahul looked in control of his innings, but lost his partner Quinton de Kock (1) cheaply. He also failed to find support in incoming batter Evin Lewis (1) and Manish Pandey (11) who failed to get going in the match.

Rahul and Hooda, however, forged an 87-run stand for the fourth wicket and rescued their side from 27/3 to 114/4.

The duo complimented each other in the middle with Hooda hitting three boundaries and as many six in his 33-ball knock while the LSG captain anchored the innings to hit six fours and one hit over the fence in his stay of 50 deliveries.

Ayush Badoni continues to impress

Young Ayush Badoni, later, continued to impress with a 12-ball 19 runs cameo which included three hits to the fence while Krunal Pandya (6) and Jason Holder (8 not out) added vital runs to the team tally.
