Mumbai Indians have had the worse possible start in the ongoing India Premier League where they lost all eight games they have played so far. However, a day after their defeat, captain Rohit Sharma penned a heartfelt note on Monday as well.

Mumbai Indians faced a 36-run defeat to Lucknow Super Giants in a must-win game, getting restricted to 132 for 8, while chasing a total of 169. Many expected a stunning show from Rohit Sharma and his team as they had returned to their home ground – the Wankhede Stadium but they failed to live up to the expectations.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma too failed to showcase his skill with the bat as he was not able to convert his start into a match-winning knock again. Rohit fell for 39 from 31 balls as well.

“We haven’t put our best foot forward in this tournament but that happens, many sporting giants have gone through this phase but I love this team and its environment. Also want to appreciate our well-wishers who’ve shown faith and undying loyalty to this team so far,” Rohit Sharma wrote in a social media post on Monday.

Mumbai Indians also responded to the post, saying: “Stronger Together”.

Rohit Sharma, meanwhile, looked dejected as nothing worked for them on their much-anticipated game. His own form has become a cause for concern as the India captain has managed to score just 153 runs which came at an average of less than 20 in 8 matches.

Meanwhile, head coach Mahela Jayawardene opened up on the team combination as well.

“Good question. I need to review this and have a chat with the rest of the coaches as well and make some plans. Batting has been a concern for us, especially on good wickets where we have batted under par. This is a senior group that understands the conditions and performed in the past. We need to keep pushing and if we need to make those changes we will do that,” Jayawardene added.
