Quinton de Kock-Deepak Hooda show resilience

Asked to bat, LSG lost their captain KL Rahul (6) in the third over of the match. But his opening partner Quinton de Kock (46) approached his innings cautiously and was well complimented by incoming batter Deepak Hooda (34) who played a perfect second fiddle to him. The duo forged an important 85-run stand for the second wicket which laid the foundation for their side. The South African hit four boundaries and two sixes in his 37-ball stay while the Indian all-rounder smashed a four and two hits over the fence in his 28-ball innings.

Later — Krunal Pandya (7), Marcus Stoinis (1) and Ayush Badoni (4) — fell in quick succession with the likes of Jason Holder (11), Dushmantha Chameera (17) and Mohsin Khan (13 not out) contributing few runs down the order.

Kagiso Rabada shows his class

Rabada showed his class for PBKS as he picked up wickets at regular intervals of time which disallowed the LSG batters to form a partnership and go towards a big total. He was the pick of the bowlers for his side as he returned figures of 4/38 while spinner Rahul Chahar scalped two wickets.
