Lucknow Super Giants became the second team to qualify for the playoffs of IPL 2022.

It looked like a fairytale in the Indian Super League (IPL) 2022 as two debut teams ended at the top of the table. Gujarat Titans (GT), led by Hardik Pandya, were the first to qualify for the playoffs. They were closely followed by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) which became the second team to qualify. LSG have performed well in batting as well as batting. But if it comes to picking their key strength, it is their batting. They have two of the in-form players up top, skipper KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock, who has played fearless cricket this season.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) might have edged LSG in the table on run-rate after winning a close contest against CSK, but the Lucknow side occupied the top two places for most of the season. They have finished their league games on a high after beating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in a last-ball thriller. The Lucknow side will be playing the second playoff to be held at Eden Gardens on May 25 (Wednesday). LSG will be hoping that they continue their league form into the playoff. For that, they will need a bright start from their openers, who are also their best batters.

KL Rahul has led LSG from the front and is the team’s leading run scorer. He has scored 537 runs in 14 matches and came second in the most runs scored in IPL 2022, only next to RR’s Jos Buttler. He has two centuries and three half-centuries to his name this season. Rahul is followed by his opening partner Quinton de Kock. He was equally impressive and has amassed 502 runs in 14 matches.
