CSK have recorded a total below 100 twice in their IPL history.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been knocked out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 with two matches in hand. Their next assignment will be against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Sunday. CSK might have been out of the IPL 2022 playoffs race but they are expected to play for pride in their remaining matches and give their fans something to cheer about by finishing the season on a high.
After the return of MS Dhoni in the captaincy role, CSK looked like a rejuvenated unit. The four-time champions saw a captaincy transition from MS Dhoni to Ravindra Jadeja for the first eight matches before the decision was reversed. The new-look franchise managed to clinch victories in only three wins from 10 matches to remain virtually out of the IPL 2022 playoffs race but Dhoni returning to the reign has brought some much needed luck back to the side.
The four-time champions have recorded a total below 100 twice in their IPL history. Chennai Super Kings recorded their lowest total of 79 runs against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhdede Stadium in Mumbai on May 5, 2013 while their second lowest total of 97 runs came against the same opponent at the same venue on May 12, 2022. Let us have a look at the other lowest scores recorded by the Chennai franchise since their inception in the IPL in 2008.
