Canada Black vs Canada Red: World Hockey Challenge U17 Live Stream, Schedule, Lineups, Injury Report, Form Guide, And Head to Head, November 3, 2022

The World Under-17 Hockey Challenge has a history of showcasing potential NHL talents, typically a season or two before the NHL Draft. The best and brightest NHL players have participated in this event throughout the years, and it has given us a glimpse of some of the future stars we’ll be seeing climb to the top of drafts in the future.

However, the U17 Challenge hasn’t happened during the last two years because of pandemic restrictions. The competition, which has grown into a tighter, more competitive event over the years, is hosted by Hockey Canada.

It almost feels like a foreshadowing of the World Junior Championships with a significant twist a few years from now. Canada sends three teams—Red, Black, and White—to this competition. The Canadians used to have more teams, divided up by area, but have since simplified into the three teams we see today, creating a more even level of competition.

USA Hockey sends its U.S. National Under-17 Team from the National Team Development Program in addition to Canada’s trio. This year’s competition will include include U17 teams from Finland, Sweden, and Czechia.

For an even eight teams, Russia would normally be included in the competition, but because of the invasion of Ukraine, Russian teams are temporarily barred from participating in any international sporting events.

However, with seven teams competing in this year’s competition, there are a number of potential to pay close attention to. Here are some of the players to be aware of as we approach the competition, which takes place in Langley and Delta, British Columbia, from November 3–12.
