The Indian women’s hockey team might not have made it through to the women’s hockey final at the 2022 Commonwealth Games but they have a fair chance of bagging the bronze medal. The women in blue will face the New Zealand women’s hockey team in the bronze medal match on Sunday, August 7. In their semi-final match, the Indian team was up against the Australian team. The match ended with both teams tied at 1-1 but the Aussies clinched a 3-0 result in the shootout competition. The sole goal scorer for India in that match was forward Vandana Katariya. The team will now be hopeful of ending up on the podium alongside England and Australia, who will meet each other in the final.
