The women in blue will face the New Zealand women’s hockey team in the bronze medal match on Sunday, August 7. In their semi-final match, the Indian team was up against the Australian team. The match ended with both teams tied at 1-1 but the Aussies clinched a 3-0 result in the shootout competition. The sole goal scorer for India in that match was forward Vandana Katariya. The team will now be hopeful of ending up on the podium alongside England and Australia, who will meet each other in the final.
