The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a disappointing 3-0 League defeat to Manchester City last Sunday, while Liverpool lost 2-1 to Bright in the FA Cup fourth round fixture, on the same day.
Wolverhampton Wanderers and Liverpool are set to face each other for the second time in a couple of weeks time as the Reds travel to Molineux Stadium for a Premier League fixture on Saturday. Liverpool edged past Wolves in the FA Cup third round replay on January 17. However, Jurgen klop’s side couldn’t extend their run beyond the fourth round of the Cup competition as they got eliminated by Brighton & Hove Albion last Sunday. Meanwhile, the hosts are heading into the match on the back of a disappointing 3-0 League defeat to Manchester City last weekend.

The defeat has left Julem Lopetegui’s side languishing at the 17th spot in the English top flight standings, having collected 17 points from 20 games, only sitting clear of Bournemouth, in the relegation zone, on goal-difference. Last time out, the Wolves became the latest victim of Erling Haaland’s hat-trick at the Etihad Stadium. The Norwegian striker opened the scoring with a 40th-minute header, before completing his fourth treble of the season ten minutes into the second half, converting a 50th minute spot-kick and tapping home four minutes later. The Wolves’ lone victory in their last seven outings across all competitions came against West Ham in a league-fixture on January 14, through Daniel Podence’s lone goal three minutes into the second half.
Liverpool, on the other hand, are also going through a tough patch, having pocketed just one point from their last three top flight matches. After playing out a lacklustre 0-0 draw against Chelsea in their previous league-match on January 21, Klopp’s side traveled to Falmer Stadium for the FA Cup fourth round clash against Bright last Sunday. The Reds scored the opening goal through Harvel Elliott on the half-hour mark, before Lewis Dunk leveled the score for Brighton, nine minutes later. Just when it looked like the game might head into extra time, Kaoru Mitoma netted a 92nd-minute winner to knock out the reigning champions. Klopp’s side will not be retaining their EFL Cup or FA Cup crowns this season, therefore Liverpool can now focus purely on their Premier League and Champions League exploits.
Wolves’ injury list consists of Chiquinho, Pedro Neto, Boubacar Traore and Sasa Kalajdzic. Matheus Cunha might lead the line, with Podence and Traore in support. New arrival Pablo Sarabia made his debur in the loss to Man City last time out and the Spaniard is likely to feature on Saturday. As for Liverpool, Virgil van Dijk, Arthur, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Roberto Firmino, Fabio Carvalho and Nat Phillips are occupying the treatment room. Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo could form the front-three, with Thiago Alacantra puling the strings in the midfield.
Wolves Probable line-up: Sa, Semedo, collins, Kilman, Bueno, Nunes, Neves, Lemina, Traore, Cunha, Podence
Liverpool probable line-up: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Robertson, Thiago, Bajectic, Elliott, Salah, Nunez, Gakpo
