Wolverhampton Wanderers and Liverpool are set to face each other for the second time in a couple of weeks time as the Reds travel to Molineux Stadium for a Premier League fixture on Saturday. Liverpool edged past Wolves in the FA Cup third round replay on January 17. However, Jurgen klop’s side couldn’t extend their run beyond the fourth round of the Cup competition as they got eliminated by Brighton & Hove Albion last Sunday. The Reds scored the opening goal through Harvel Elliott on the half-hour mark, before Lewis Dunk leveled the score for Brighton, nine minutes later. Just when it looked like the game might head into extra time, Kaoru Mitoma netted a 92nd-minute winner to knock out the reigning champions. Klopp’s side will not be retaining their EFL Cup or FA Cup crowns this season, therefore Liverpool can now focus purely on their Premier League and Champions League exploits.
Wolves’ injury list consists of Chiquinho, Pedro Neto, Boubacar Traore and Sasa Kalajdzic. Matheus Cunha might lead the line, with Podence and Traore in support. New arrival Pablo Sarabia made his debur in the loss to Man City last time out and the Spaniard is likely to feature on Saturday.
