West Ham United will host Tottenham Hotspur in a Premier League fixture at the London Stadium on Wednesday night. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a narrow 1-0 victory over Aston Villa last Sunday, while Tottenham secured a convincing 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest on the same day.  West Ham are currently occupying 17th position in the league standings with three points from four games, while Spurs are sitting at the third spot with 10 points, just two adrift of the leaders Arsenal.

West Ham didn’t make a great start to their 2022-23 Premier League campaign, losing their opening three games against Manchester City (3-0), Nottingham forest (1-0) and Brighton & Hove Albion (2-0). However, the Hammers managed to bounce back at Villa Park on Sunday. David Moyes’ side defeated Aston Villa courtesy of Pablo Fornals’ lone strike in the 74th-minute. Prior to that, West Ham thrashed Viborg 3-1 in the second leg of their Europa conference League qualifying playoff tie and secured a 6-1 aggregate victory to progress to the group stages of the competition.

Tottenham, on the other hand, have made a brilliant start to their new league season, recording three wins and a draw so far to pocket 10 points. Spurs defeated Forest courtesy of Harry Kane’s brace. It was a dominant performance from Antonio Conte’s side as they recorded seven shots on target compared to just one by Forest at City Ground. Prior to that, Spurs secured a narrow 1-0 win over Wolves through Kane’s goal. After the game against Hammers, Conte’s side will host Fulham before kicking off their Champions League campaign at home against Marseille on September 7.

Probable Lineups

West Ham defenders Nayef Aguerd and Craig Dawson are sidelined with ankle and thigh injuries respectively. Michael Antonio, who started on the bench in the previous game, is likely to come into the starting eleven, replacing Gianluca Scamacca in the centre-forward position. Meanwhile chances of new signing Lucas Paqueta making his debut for the new club are slim. As for Tottenham, Conte is unlikely to make too many alterations to the winning team. Christian Romero could return to the three-man defence after recovering from an injury. Kane, Son and Dejan Kulusevski are likely to continue up front, while attacker Richarlison is pushing for a place in the starting eleven.

West Ham United probable starting lineup: Fabianski, Kehrer, Zouma, Ogbonna, Coufal, Soucek, Rice, Fornals, Emerson, Antonio, Bowen

Tottenham Hotspur probable starting lineup: Lloris, Romero, Dier, Davies, Emerson, Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Perisic, Kulusevski, Kane, Son
