West Ham United will host Bright & Hove Albion in a Premier League fixture at the London stadium on Sunday. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a 3-1 win over Viborg in a Europa Conference League playoff match last Thursday, while Brighton played out a goalless draw against Newcastle United in a league fixture last week. The victory helped Brighton to occupy the ninth spot in the standings with four points from two games, while the Hammers are languishing at the 19th spot, yet to open their account.

West Ham didn’t have a great start to their 2022-23 Premier League campaign, losing their first two games against Manchester City (2-0) and Nottingham Forest (1-0). Last week against the newly promoted Forest, David Moyes’s side deserved a point, but Taiwo Awoniyi’s lone goal towards the end of first half separated the two sides. And then, the Hammers registered their first win of the campaign in the continental fixture against Danish outfit Viborg FC. Goals from Gianluca Scamacca, Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio helped the Hammers secure the win and put one foot in the group stage of Europa conference League.

Brighton, on the other hand, began their season with a surprise 2-1 win over Manchester United on August 7 courtesy of a brace from Pascal Grob. And then, the Seagulls were clearly the better side against the Magpies last weekend, but failed to break the deadlock and thereby shared the points. Graham Potter’s side managed to create 13 goal-scoring chances and recorded seven shots on target, compared to just one by Newcastle.
West Ham’s number one goalkeeper Lukas Fabianski could return in goal with Zouma and Johnson forming the centre-back partnership. Antonio is likely to be the target-man up front with Bowen and Benrahma in support. As for Brighton, Welbeck is expected to lead the line with Lallana and Gross in support. MacAllister and Caicedo could pull the strings in the midfield with March and Trossard occupying the flanks.
West Ham probable starting lineup: Fabianski, Coufal, Zouma, Johnson, Cresswell, Soucek, Rice, fornals, Bowen, Antonio, Benrahma
Brighton probable starting lineup: Sanchez, Veltman, Dunk, Webster, March, MacAllister, Caicedo, Trossard, Gross, Lallana, Welbeck
The Premier League fixture between West Ham and Brighton will take place at London Stadium on Sunday at 6:30 pm IST.
