The Stones began their pre-season with a 4-0 win at Hendon on July 6, defeated Slough Town 2-1 three days later, before being held by Beaconfield in an eight-goal thriller and then lost 1-0 to Charlton Athletic U-23s on Saturday afternoon. Stuart Maynard’s side have already played four friendlies this summer. They will also take on Bedford, Billericay Town and Chelmsford City in their final three friendlies before opening their new National League campaign at home to Bromley on August 6.
QPR, on the other hand, after the Wealdstone game, will take on Crystal Palace next Saturday, before beginning their 2022-23 Championship campaign at Blackburn Rovers. Michael Beale’s side began their pre-season with a 3-3 draw against Crawley Town before putting four goals past Zwickau without reply and then shared the spoils against Hallescher last Saturday. Rangers have made a couple of new signings to bolster the squad, with Jake Clarke-Salter and Kenneth Paal both arriving in free transfers, while Tyler Roberts has joined on loan from Leeds United.

Wealdstone boss Maynard is likely to give more opportunities to trial players as seen in the previous games. Midfielder Alex Dyer is pushing for a place in the starting eleven, while new arrival Malachi Napa is also expected to feature in the playing eleven on Wednesday. Napa could join Hutchinson up front. As for QPR, the back four of Ossie Kakay, Rob Dickie, Clarke-Salter and Paal is unlikely to be changed as the coach would need them to build a solid partnership before the season begins. Field and Stefan Johansen are likely to pull the string from the midfield.
Wealdstone FC probable starting lineup: Hows; Sesay, Cook, Habergham, Hearn; Ferguson, Dyer, Young, Allarakhia; Napa, Hutchinson
Queens Park Rangers probable starting lineup: Dieng; Kayak, Dickie, Clarke-Salter, Paal; Johansen, Field, Dozzell; Adomah, Dykes, Bonne
