The 22-year-old represented KBFC in the recently concluded Reliance Foundation Development League and delivered some impressive performances to attract  interests from various Indian clubs. The youngster joined the Yellow Army last summer from Gokulam Kerala FC and produced some decent performances in the ISL. Barretto won the I-League title with Gokulam Kerala FC

In December, 2020 Barretto joined Gokulam Kerala FC. He went on to make 13 appearance for the Malabarians in the I-League title-winning campaign. And then, in July, 2021, KBFC came calling and the youngster moved from Kozhikode to Kochi. Barretto’s debut ISL season was pretty good as he scored 2 goals in 17 appearances for the Yellow Army. Most recently, Barretto served KBFC reserves in the RF Development League, where he scored 3 times in 7 appearances to lead his side to the final, where they eventually lost to Bengaluru FC reserves.

Barretto is an exceptionally quick winger

The Goan footballer is exceptionally quick and can play on both wings. He has mostly been used in recent times as the right-winger or right midfielder. Although he was mostly used as an impact substitute in his debut ISL season, he was impressive with his passing accuracy of 72%. Barretto can become an effective winger because of his electric pace. He is still very young and has time on his side to learn and move forward. With a bit more composure in the final third and quality in crosses , he will surely have better numbers on his side in the future.
