Viktoria Plzen have made an impressive start to their league title-defence, having won six of their opening seven games so far. In their recent league match against Sigma last weekend, Michal Bilek’s side secured a 3-2 win courtesy of Tomas Chory’s first half brace and Milan Havel’s lone goal after the break. After that, Viktoria Plzen lost to Serie A giants Inter Milan in a Champions League match on Wednesday. Edin Dzeko and Denzel Dumfries netted for the Italian outfit. It was Bilek’s side’s second consecutive Champions League defeat in as many games, the first one was against Barcelona (5-1) last week.

Slavia Praha, on the other hand, got the better of Balkani in a Conference League fixture on Thursday. The Red and Whites found the back of the net three times, courtesy of an own goal by Stive Frasheri and one goal each by Peter Olayinka and Lukas Masopust. Prior to that, the Red and whites thrashed SK Dynamo 6-1 in a domestic league match last weekend. Stanislav Tecl netted a brace, while Ivan Schranz, Masopust, Ondrej Lingr and Ewerton da Silva scored one goal each at Eden Arena.

Viktoria Plzen boss Bilek is likely to opt for a string starting eleven with in-form striker Chory leading the line. Bucha and Kalvach could sit in front of the back-four with Vlkanova deployed as the attacking midfielder. As for Slavia Praha, Peter Olayinka could lead the line, with Schranz, Lingr and Masopust in support. Tiehi and Provod could pull the strings in the midfield.
