Viktoria Plzen won the Czech First League title last term to earn a spot in the Champions League qualifiers. Gurban Gurbanov’s men overcame the likes of HJK and Sheriff Tiraspol to reach this far in the qualifiers. In the first leg encounter at Tofq Bahramov Stadium, the Czech outfit came out with a defensive game plan to earn a goalless draw. Qarabag FK were clearly the better side in Baku, recording 67% of ball possession and attempting seven shots on target compared to just one by Viktoria Plzen. But the Azerbaijani club failed to find the back of the net.
Viktoria Plzen forward Jan Kliment, who has scored in three straight games, is likely to feature on Tuesday. Kemelka, Pernica and Hejda are likely to form the three-man defence with Havel and Kpoic occupying the flanks. As for Qarabag FK, Wadji is expected to lead the line with Zoubir and Sheydayev in support. Qarayev is likely to join Jankovic and Kady in a three-man midfield.
