Nerazzurri edged past Toriono, courtesy of Marcelo Brozovic’s lone goal in the 89th minute. It was Inter’s fourth win in six Serie A games and Simone Inzaghi’s side are now occupying fifth position in the standings, with 12 points, two behind leaders Napoli. Meanwhile, in the European stage, the 2020-21 Serie A champions were simply outclassed by Bayern last week. Leroy Sane gave the lead to the Bundesliga champions before Danil D’ Ambrosio netted an own goal to hand the defeat to Inter. Inzahi’s side managed to record just two shots on target compared to eleven by Bayern.
Viktoria Plzen, on the other hand, conceded five times against Barcelona at Camp Nou last Wednesday. Franck Kessie opened the scoring before Robert Lewandowski netted a hat-trick and Ferran Torres completed the drubbing with Barca’s fourth of the night. Michal Bilek’s side netted a consolation goal through Jan Sykora. After that, the Czech outfit managed to get the better of Sigma in a domestic match courtesy of Tomas Chory’s double and Milan Havel’s lone goal. The victory helped Viktoria Plzen to move to 19 points from seven games, level on points with leaders Slavia Praha.

Inter boss Inzaghi is likely to opt for Andre Onana in goal ahead of Samir Handanovic. Striker Romelu Lukaku is nursing a thigh injury, therefore Joaquin Correa is expected to partner Lautaro Martinez up front. Mkhitaryan could come into the engine room, alongside Nicolo Barella and Brozovic. As for Viktoria Plzen, last game’s double-goal hero Chory might lead the line with Sykora, Vlkanova and Mosquera in support.
Viktoria Plzen probable starting lineup: Stanek, Holik, Pernica, Havel, Kalvach, Bucha, Sykora, Vikanova, Mosquera, Chory
Inter Milan probable starting lineup: Onana, Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni, Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Mkhitaryan, Darmian, Correa, Martinez
