Udinese are going through a tough patch, having collected just three points from their last six matches, played either side of the winter break. Last time out, the Little Zebras got the better of Sampdoria, courtesy of Kingsley Ehizibue’s lone goal two minutes from time. It was their first league-win since defeating Veroa in the reverse fixture in October. Meanwhile, the White and Blacks were dealt a serious blow by the week’s news that star man Gerard Deulofeu must undergo knee surgery.
Verona, on the other hand, got the better of Lecce, last Saturday, courtesy of goals from Fabio Depaoli and Darko Lazovic. It was their third Serie A-win of the campaign 19 attempts. They are now aiming to achieve successive top flight wins for the first time in a year. With both Rome clubs to come in their next three fixtures, Marco Zaffaroni’s side will be aiming to earn a positive result against a side that has won just once in their last 11 top flight matches.
Udinese star-man Deulofeu is set to go under the knife and may be sidelined for a couple of weeks. Meanwhile, attacker Roberto Pereyera is also occupying the medical room with a minor injury. Isaac Success and Beto are expected to partner up front, with Ehizibue and Udogie occupying the flanks. As for Verona, striker Thomas Henry is nursing an ACL injury. Djuric might spearhead the attack, with Lazovic and Lasagna in support.
Udinese Probable line-up: Silvestri, Becao, Bijol, Perez, Ehizibue, Samardzic, Wallace, Arslan, Udogie, Beto, Success
Hellas Verona probable line-up: Montipo, Ceccherini, Hien, Magnani, Depaoli, Sulemana, Tameze, Doig, Lazovic, Lasagna, Djuric
