Tottenham Hotspur will host Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Saturday. Both sides are heading into the match on the back of draws in their respective previous league fixtures. The hosts played out a thrilling 2-2 draw against Chelsea last Sunday, while, a day earlier, Wolves were held to a goalless draw against Fulham. After playing two games each, Spurs are placed at the fourth place in the Premier League standings with four points, while Wolves are occupying the 14th spot with just a solo point.

Spurs made an impressive start to their 2022-23 Premier League campaign, thrashing Southampton 4-1 on August 6. And then, a week later, came from behind to earn a point against the Blues at Stamford Bridge. Pierre Emile-Hjojberg canceled out Kalidou Koulibaly’s opener before Reece James restored Chelsea’s lead. Just when it looked like the hosts would take all three points, Harry Kane netted a 96th-minute equaliser to share the spoils. Antonio Conte’s side displayed great fighting spirit and never say die attitude to snatch a draw from the jaws of defeat.

Wolves, on the other hand, began their new league season with a 2-1 defeat to Leeds United, before playing out a cagey goalless draw against the newly promoted Fulham, last week. Bruno Lage’s side have been playing some good possession-based football but have been lacking in terms of the end product. Despite recording close to 60% ball possession in their last outing, the Wanderers managed to register just one shot on target. 

Probable Lineups

Spurs centre-back Christian Romero has sustained a muscle injury and either Clement Lenglet or Davinson Sanchez could replace him in the back-three. Rest of the squad is fit and ready to go. Hojberg and Bentacur are likely to sit in front of the back-four with Son Heung-min, Kane and Dejan Kulusevski forming the front-three. Brazilian forward Richarlison, who joined the club from Everton this summer is likely to feature on Saturday. As for Wolves, Hwang could lead the line with Daniel Podence, Gibbs-White and Neto in support. Nelson Semedo, Joao Moutinho and Adama Traore are nursing injuries.
