Meanwhile, the Italian outfit also went on to lift the Europa Conference League title last season by defeating Feyenoord 1-0 in the final, two months ago.

Tottenham began their pre-season with a 6-3 win over K-League XI before playing out a 1-1 draw against Sevilla and then got the better of Rangers. Against the Scottish outfit, Antonio Conte’s side secured the win courtesy of a brace from Harry Kane after Antonio Colak ahd given the lead to the Teddy Bears. After the I-Tech Cup match against Roma, Spurs will begin their new Premier League season at home against Southampton on August 6. Conte has bolstered his squad this summer by bringing in Richarlison, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, Djed Spence, Fraser Forster on a permanent deal, while Clement Lenglet has joined the club on a loan deal from FC Barcelona.
Roma, on the other hand, unveiled their biggest signing of the summer, Paulo Dybala from Juventus, a few days ago. The Argentine playmaker was given a rip-roaring reception from the Giallorossi faithful during the presentation ceremony. Mourinho’s men began their pre-season with two successive wins against Sunderland (2-0) and Portimonense (2-0) before losing to Sporting Lisbon (3-2), and then shared the spoils against Nice. Last Saturday, Mario Lemina’s own goal canceled out Billal Brahimi. Roma will also play Shakhtar Donetsk next Sunday before kicking off their new Serie A season at home against Salernitana on August 14.
Tottenham defender Ben Davies is nursing an ankle injury, while Oliver Skip is also dealing with an injury issue. Summer-signing Richarlison is expected to join Son Heung-min and Kane up front while Bentancur and Hojbjerg could pull the strings in the midfield. Emerson Royal and Perisic are likely to occupy the flanks. As for Roma, Tammy Abraham, who netted 17 Serie A goals last season, is expected to lead the attack with Dybala and Zaniolo in support. Nemanja Matic could sit in front of the back-four and pull the strings.
