Tottenham Hotspur will host Brenftord in a Premier League fixture at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a 2-1 defeat away to Aston Villa last weekend, while the Bees got the better of West Ham United 2-0. Meanwhile, the hosts have won six of their last eight league-matches on home turf, while the visitors are suffered defeat in three of their last four top flight matches on the road.

Tottenham’s miserable away-form in the Premier League continues last weekend, as they lost out to Aston Villa at Villa Park. Unai Emery’s side two a 2-0 lead through goals from Jacob Ramsey and Douglas Luuiz, while the North London side puled one back through Harry Kane’s 90th-minute penalty-kick. The English striker has now scored 27 top flight goals this term, only behind Erling Haaland (36) in the Golden Boot race. Prior to their 13th league-defeat of the season, Tottenham got the better of Crystal Palace thanks to Kane’s lone goal on the stroke of half-time. It was Spurs’s 17th Premier League-victory of the campaign. Having won just one of their last six outings, with four defeats in the period, Ryan Mason’s (Interim Boss) side have slipped out of the top four and are now fighting to secure at least a Europa Conference League qualification.  Tottenham are currently occupying seventh position in the table having collected 57 points from 36 games, just a solitary point behind sixth-placed Brighton, who have a game in hand.

Brenftord, on the other hand, have won three of their last four games, while keeping clean sheets in each of those triumphs. The Bees put two goals past West Ham without reply last time out thanks to first-half efforts from Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa. It was their 13th league-win of the season and the result has helped Brentford to seal their top-10 finish in the English top flight for the first time in their history. As of now, Thomas Frank’s side are sitting at the ninth spot in the standings, with 53 points to their name from 36 games, just four points adrift of their Saturday’s opponents. With two games remaining, the Bees still have an outside chance of securing European football for next season, but their final league-match will be against leaders Manchester City next week.
