Sunderland came-from-behind to secure all three points against Birmingham thanks to Trai Hume’s equaliser on the stroke of half-time and Amad Diallo’s75th-mnute winner. It was Coal Cats’ 16th second tier victory of the season and the result extended their unbeaten streak to five games. Tony Mowbray’s side are very much in the mix for a playoff position entering the final straight. Sunderland have a tough end to the season, facing West Bromwich Albion, Watford, and Preston North End in their remaining fixtures. Meanwhile, Sunderland secured a 2-0 win over Huddersfield in the reverse fixture in November last year thanks to second-half efforts from Alex Pritchard and Diallo.
Huddersfield, on the other hand, lost to the Swans last time out courtesy of Ryan Manning’s lone goal in the second-half. The result ended their five games unbeaten streak that included three wins consecutive wins over Millwall, Middlesbrough and Watford. The Terreiers have recorded only 11 league-wins this season and their latest success came away to Watford (3-2) on April 7, thanks to goals from Jack Rudoni, Matty Pearson and Kian Harratt. Meanwhile, Neil Warnock’s side have the fourth-worst away-record in the second tier this season, only picking up 16 points from a possible 63 on their travels. But they have won two of their last thee Championship-games on the road.
